This is my first blog post, ever. Having a needlework blog of my own has been in the back of my mind for a long time now. Today, I am finally taking the plunge :)
I live in a house full of yarn and cats (Diesel, Sal & Chester) in Central Nova Scotia. I am a stay-at-home-mum and childcare provider. In my spare time I enjoy reading (I belong to a bookclub with six other women), camping, baking and needlework of all sorts. My real passion is knitting, with some crocheting thrown in for good measure :) I have been knitting and crocheting for 35+ years. I actually cannot remember a time when I wasn't doing one or the other. My aunt taught me how to make granny squares when I was in elementary school and I've never looked back! I enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee while stitching, they both go so well with yarn. I am also the Crafts project leader for our local 4-H club.
My husband (Dear) and his brother own and operate a trucking & excavating business. Dear does not understand my fascination with all things yarny, but he does his best.
We have one 16 year old daughter (the girl). She is a piper, a 4-H'er and a crocheter from way back. I taught her how when she was only six years old. She is also an aspiring yarn bomber. What have I done?!?
Just recently I finished my first real pair of socks. By "real" I mean socks made with actual sock yarn. I have used worsted weight before. They're great for wearing around the house, but in shoes...not so much.

In the works I also have:
2. Granny's Noel Throw from www.redheart.com for the house.
3. Ankle socks for the girl.
I'll leave it at that for now. I hope you enjoyed our little visit, & I'll see you next time :)
